Aim: To put an air purifier in every classroom, helping our children to breathe easy, focus and stay in school.

Help Us Breathe Easier: Fundraising for Classroom Air Filters

At Lessness Heath, the health and wellbeing of our children is our highest priority. That’s why we are embarking on a crucial mission to provide every classroom with high-quality air filters—because clean air isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.

Why Air Filters Matter

Children breathe more rapidly than adults and their lungs are still developing, making them more vulnerable to air pollution and allergens. With rising levels of outdoor pollution, traffic fumes, and seasonal viruses, it’s never been more important to ensure the air our pupils breathe inside school is as clean as possible.

Filtered air supports:

  • Better health – Air filters reduce the spread of colds, flu, and other airborne illnesses, keeping children and staff healthier.
  • Improved learning – Clean air is linked to better concentration, cognitive performance, and classroom focus.
  • Fewer asthma and allergy triggers – Filters remove dust, pollen, mould spores, and other irritants, creating a safer space for children with allergies or asthma.
  • Fewer sick days – Healthier classrooms mean fewer absences. That means children don’t miss out on learning, and parents don’t need to take time off work to care for unwell children.
  • A calmer classroom – With fewer health distractions, children can settle more easily into their learning.

Our Goal

We aim to raise £14,000 to install HEPA-grade air filters in every classroom and cover onward running costs for years to come. Each unit costs from £220-£650 depending on size, and every donation brings us closer to cleaner, healthier air for all our pupils.

How You Can Help

-Donate what you can – every pound counts, no matter how small.

-Share our campaign – spreading the word is just as powerful as donating. Tell your friends, family, and local groups.

-Local businesses – sponsor a filter or a classroom and receive a public thank-you via our school’s social media. It’s a great way to support the community and boost your brand.

Whether it’s £1, £10, or the cost of a full unit, your contribution makes a real difference. Let’s work together to give our children the healthiest start possible—one breath at a time.

Thank you for your support!
