Support Age UK Plymouth – Helping Older People Live Well
At Age UK Plymouth, we are dedicated to improving the lives of older people in our community. Since 1942, we've been a lifeline for thousands of individuals across the city—offering support, companionship, and vital services that promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
Why We Need Your Support
As the cost of living rises and public services face increasing pressure, more older people than ever are turning to us for help. Many are living alone, managing long-term health conditions, or struggling with loneliness and isolation.
With your help, we can continue to:
- Run social clubs and a Day Centre to reduce loneliness and build friendships
- Provide Dementia services to care for and support all those living with dementia, including providing respite for carers and loved ones.
- Deliver support packages to vulnerable individuals leaving hospital
- Offer free advice and information on entitled benefits, housing, and care
Our Impact So Far
- Supported thousands of older people in the Plymouth last year
- Provided mental health and wellbeing support to hundreds of isolated individuals, including those who attend the Day Centre, Dementia Day Centre and carers.
- 745 vulnerable people supported through the Hospital Discharge service last year, helping people return to independence after a stay in hospital.
- 3577 attendances from veterans at our veterans groups - physical, social and mental wellbeing groups
- £2,713,221.94 unlocked in entitled benefits for older people in Plymouth, through our free Information and Advice service.
- Operated by a team of passionate staff and dedicated volunteers, rooted in the local community
