Advice for Renters has been providing housing advice and support to thousands of tenants since our inception in 1989. Originally founded in Brent, London, we currently serve one of the most deprived boroughs with one of the largest proportions of private tenants. We now offer a holistic service which aims to equip people with the skills to maintain tenancies and maximise income. Our programme of support includes legal advice, debt advice, financial inclusion support as well as mentoring for self identified goals.
Since the end of Covid restrictions, we’ve seen a spike in tenants seeking our assistance with housing-related issues. Not only are more renters facing poor housing conditions and rent increases, but many are also being evicted with only two months' notice.
But housing insecurity isn’t isolated to London alone. We’ve branched out to Hereford to reach more families and pensioners in need of legal and financial support. For those needing a helping hand in the most rural parts of our country, our services are a lifeline.
