We're still collecting donations
On the 15th July 2024 we'd raised £1,000 with 15 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
The aim of this project is to create a piece about female strength, beauty and resilience.

The idea of "Adira" was born during a challenging moment in my career. I was struggling to find performance work, despite being in peak physical shape and having extensive experience. In talking to fellow female dancers, I found many were struggling in the same way. The dance world is tough, competitive and unforgiving in spite of the beauty and joy it can deliver. I believe dance has plenty to give even in difficult times, when used correctly.
My goal is to create a dance piece that employs female artists in order to empower them and the audiences watching. I also want to offer training opportunities that are safe and healthy spaces for women in and out of the arts.
I aim to have a six week week creation process during which we will create a new work " Adira" that can later be toured in the UK and possibly internationally. Throughout the creative process I would like to host a series of dance classes that can be made free for female identifying dancers to join.
I would love to also create a condensed version of the piece to tour in schools and help empower young women and girls through movement.
