Every Spring, ACT II runs the London Student Drama Festival. Since 2021 ACT II has worked with over 150 student theatre-makers in London, providing training, networking, performance, industry connections, and workshop opportunities. ACT II 2023 aims to be even bigger and better than previous years with our Festival Leaders working hard to make sure the emerging creatives that take part are supported in every way possible. In order to make the festival the best it can be and to ensure those involved in running the festival are paid for their work, this is the first year that ACT II will be asking every young person that takes part to pay a £50 participation fee. This fee will give every participant:
- Free industry workshops
- Regular mentoring & support meetings
- Free networking & social events
- Free, bookable rehearsal spaces
- Feedback on their work
- Two performances at a leading fringe venue in London
- Tech support for the final performances
- Access to ACT II alumni opportunities and events
Whilst for some young people this participation fee will be manageable, for many it will not. Therefore we are looking to raise £1650 so that up to 50% of the emerging theatre-makers taking part in ACT II 2023 will be able to do so for free.
Please donate whatever you can to allow ACT II to continue to provide free access to theatre development opportunities for students in London.
