As a retired English teacher I thought I should start some local English classes for our Ukrainian guests.

With the help of 5 other teachers and many helpers we have been running classes for 6 months in Godalming. Our guests are very keen to improve their language skills so that they can get jobs. Many are now working but mostly are only earning the minimum wage. Some now have to move out of the accommodation offered by our wonderful host families. In this area it is almost impossible to find affordable rentals. Our group tries to help them in many other ways apart from teaching. 

We help with schools, socialising, giving lifts and generally do our very best to support them when things are getting worse in Ukraine.
