Having spent 10 years teaching primary aged children, I've set off in a new direction to provide a mental health service to children in Worcestershire and the surrounding counties.
Half way through training, I'm beginning to plan a new centre for providing Play Therapy for children aged 4-12. It'll need a space, with outdoor facilities too, as well as a toolkit (toys and creative art materials). Money I raise will be spent on beginning this service.
I've taken on additional training to be able to use my new skills in the outdoor environment as well as indoors, which will add to the beneficial outcomes for children who come to me for therapy.
I've seen first hand the detrimental impact of unsteady or traumatic experiences on children's lives and would like to do my part in extending support to them and their families.
