Your support makes a difference
Aim: Every donation will work towards fuelling community charities that uplift and empower communities in Haringey
This Saturday I'll be descending (hopefully with grace, but probably more like a startled spider) a 19-storey building, the side of Northolt — a building steeped in history with a gorgeous skyline view.
Why? To raise money for a community that truly deserves it. I’m excited, yes, but also deeply anxious — not about dangling from a tall building in a harness, but about making sure I raise the funds that could genuinely make a difference.
This isn’t just for the thrill I’m doing it to raise money for Active Change Haringey, a brilliant local coalition of people who believe in the power of sport and physical activity to bring communities together and change lives in East Haringey. They are putting these donations towards some excellent projects which I will link if I can. Raza Sana Street Gym, Project 2020, Haringey Play Association, and Moselle Community Project.
It means a lot to me — I’ve spent my whole adult life working to support inclusive physical activity access because I’ve seen first-hand how much of a difference it makes. It’s not just about fitness — it’s about confidence, mental health, community spirit, and giving people the chance to feel a part of something bigger.
So yes, I’m excited… but more than that I’m determined to raise money for a cause that absolutely deserves it.
If the beautiful souls I know, (and the ones I don't) can spare anything, I’d be grateful. Every donation helps – and it'll also help me feel slightly more justified to lean backwards off a 19-storey ledge.
Please support if you can. I’ll be the one clinging to a rope, thinking of you all fondly (and wishing I’d done more squats).
