About the centre

The Abbotshall Healthy Living Centre is a small community centre based in Catford. We provide a safe and welcoming place where people can take part in sports, attend classes and social gatherings, help with gardening and purchase freshly made healthy food.

Our core values are:

• supporting healthy lifestyles for all - including physical, emotional and social wellbeing;
• being the "village" that every community needs - providing a friendly smile, a chat, a warm welcome;
• keeping open a green space for all to enjoy

What Abbotshall means to the community

Abbotshall was forced to close its doors to the public in July 2023 due to a funding crisis. While it was closed supporters told us:

"It’s the heart of the Corbett Estate and we miss it so much."

The Board of Trustees

The HLC has a Board of Trustees consisting of 7 local volunteers with a range of vital skill sets covering everything from charity governance to large-scale project management; from hospitality to sales growth. They have committed to at least 3 years and several hours a week volunteering to securing the HLC's future. During the centre's closure, the Board worked to secure funding that would enable it to re-open. Their mission now is to build a strong, secure future for Abbotshall so that it is never left vulnerable again.
