Hello, I'm Jenin, a content creator from Gaza. I was living a quiet and beautiful life before the war turned my life upside down.
I had a quiet and passionate life routine. I had recently started my third year in engineering college and took care of 13 pets (12 cats and a turtle)
On 10/21/2023, my house was bombed with two missiles without warning. My family was inside the house hearing the sounds of the bombing, not expecting that they would be the next target.
One of the missiles directly targeted my 13-year-old brother, who lost his life instantly .
We went to look for him after the bombing, but we didn't find his body…..
He was a ninth-grade student who made sure to keep his school bag clean and in good condition throughout the war hoping to be able to return to school after the war ended.
My father was seriously injured, after which he underwent three surgeries.
My other brother also injured.
All my cats and turtle were killed as a result of the bombing.
Our house was completely destroyed, and we moved to live in shelter camp that lacked all the basic meanings of life.
My family and I lived in a school that was considered a camp for displaced persons for several months until the occupation occupied the city of Rafah and we were forced to leave the school.
Another displacement that didn't give me a chance to mourn my brother's death, our home we lost, my university stage that I didn't live, not even my cats and my turtle ….
now I live in a tent that is no more than 4 meters in size. As time passes, life becomes like hell.
With the beginning of the summer, tent becomes more like an oven of heat intensity
Water is contaminated and food is no longer available as previously only aid canned
I suffer from pollution and the lack of the most basic necessities of life such as water, electricity and clean food.
The only positive thing is that I have a cat to look after and spend my time in the tent with.
The war on my city is fierce and cruel and has destroyed all aspects of life and progress, including education
The occupation was keen to destroy all the universities to ensure that we would be cut off from education for several years to come, which means ensuring that my city is backward and isolated from the outside world. Now I'm trying to survive with my family.
The genocide we live in the Gaza Strip has made us think about running out of Gaza in search of safety, education and life. I am still determined to complete my university education to ensure the improvement of my future and the future of my family.
