Dr Emad Shaqoura , is a Phd student at Keele University ( Keele, Newcastle ST5 5BG ) , final year Neuroanatomy student , a brilliant , kind , respectful and warm .
He is also a father of 3 , Aya 9 years old , Reema 6 years old and Mohammad 2 years old , his wife is also a Masters degree holder in medical physiology .
They have been living in Stoke-on-Trent for about 3 years now , had plans to go back to their families in Gaza by the end of next year to support their community, however , everything changed in a blink of an eye !
The war started , first they received the news that the University which they were working in , teaching medical students online at the moment , and where they were supposed to work after Dr Emad's graduation , has been completely demolished !
They lost their lost their job which was supplying them with about 200£/month , not only this , now the don't have a place to work anymore .
Yesterday , was the day we all feared , while Emad was at the university doing a demonstration to students , we received the news that his family home on Southern Gaza - Khan Younis , hosting his elderly parents , brothers , sister and their children (they went to the south as they were told that it is a safe place) it was was targeted by an airstrike , for absolutely no reason , burying alive his kind mother , sister and her two children , two brothers and their children !
His father and two nieces are still in the critical care in a hospital struggling to survive due to the immense shortage of supplies and fuel .
Emad and his family , are completely devastated by what happened , after suffering for about a month to get in touch with their loved ones in Gaza , they are physically and emotionally broken .
Emad did not have the chance to say goodbay to his mother , brothers , sister ad nieces .
He is currently living in a small rented terraced house in Stoke-on-Trent with his family , we are trying to help them with whatever we can , but we need a bit more support .
We won't be able to heal Emad's family wounds , however , we can make a small gesture to help them cope in these difficult days .
Thank you !
