A Peak a Week.
We did it
On 13th June 2024 we successfully raised £321 with 18 supporters in 28 days

i aim to climb to a mountain peak in the Mourne Mountains each week for the next 10 weeks, then the next week walk the Mourne Wall.

About 19 years ago i worked in Lusaka in Zambia for about 4 years. For a good portion of that time i worked with an orphan home called My Father's House, run by an organisation called Every Orphan's Hope. While there i met a host of friends and was honoured to be able to remain in contact with many of the children even until this day.

A few weeks ago i was diagnosed with some minor heart issues, so after a week or so of contemplation and feeling a bit sorry for myself i decided to try and improve my fitness and fulfil a goal of climbing Slieve Donard. For those who don't know it's the highest peak in Northern Ireland.

As much as i loved the views, my legs did not appreciate the effort.

So the next week i climbed a much smaller mountain named Hen Mountain on the other side of the Mournes.

When i was at the top i thought i would love to help out with the organisation that i worked with and came up with the idea of a Peak a Week.

As you can imagine this will be a massive challenge for me and i would absolutely love if i could help make a difference in the lives of the newer children who now live in the homes.

Whether you want to give for each peak, a one off donation or if you want to wait until after the Mourne Wall walk, any and all funds raised will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and i hope thanks in advance for your help.
