Our crew comprises four documentary students from the University of Westminster who are passionate about film and telling that carry importance.

The documentary “A Home for the Artist” aims to explore Bulgaria's art scene and reality between the 60s and the 90s contrast it with today's reality, and showcase the importance of art and community through conversations with the residents of “The Home for Veterans of Culture and Art”.

The film will focus on the lives of retired artists residing in the home for veterans of Bulgarian art and culture. The institution is home to people with lots of charisma and stage presence who have lived dense lives filled with exciting stories but without many people left to tell them anymore. This documentary aims to illuminate people who are in danger of being forgotten and, through their stories, to try and understand a country's complex history and culture.

The film aims to showcase the importance of Community, Creativity, Art and Human Connection in life. To shine a light onto the unique institution, ' The Home for Veterans of Culture and Art,” and showcase the contrast in the different stages of an artist’s life.
