We're still collecting donations
On the 26th July 2023 we'd raised £500 with 15 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Part standup, part sketch comedy, "A Gefilte Fish Out of Water" tells the stories of the people behind the recipes of the cookbook.

On the 26th July 2023 we'd raised £500 with 15 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
There are three inspirations for this show.
First was my cookbook of the same name. I wrote the first draft in 2005 but only finished it during lockdown to help me remember how to celebrate the Jewish New Year when I couldn’t have people over. Each recipe has a story about the person who influenced me most or gave me the recipe. This show personifies my love for them and tells those stories.
I also read David Baddiel’s book “Jews Don’t Count” and realised how much I censored myself online about my own feelings. So I’m letting it all out in 45 minutes of standup and sketch comedy.
Lastly, I became addicted to “Taskmaster” and “No More Jockeys”. Clearly the only way I’ll be invited to “Taskmaster” is if I’m a bona fide comedian or comedic actor. This show is step one to getting there.
The culmination of those three ideas is “A Gefilte Fish Out of Water”- part standup, part sketch comedy. I always play myself but Jack Lee and Madeleine Devine play ALL of the other characters. Beth Duddy is directing. (Artwork by Helene Aarak)
