We're still collecting donations
On the 30th June 2023 we'd raised £16,950 with 224 supporters in 59 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Bringing festive lights to Crystal Palace Triangle each Christmas for many years to come!
by Friends of Gipsy Hill in London, Greater London, United Kingdom
On the 30th June 2023 we'd raised £16,950 with 224 supporters in 59 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
With more funding (in a stretch target) we can then get... a community Christmas Tree this year (at a safe location), power for lighting the tree, help contribute to a "Switch-On" event, and (roll of drums) new wall fixings installed to allow "Cross Street" lights or a banner over the road to be used in future years. The stretch target also helps build a small contingency fund for motif breakages / repairs and cover the annual power bill for the lights. As we'll own the new motifs, and we can enhance them in future years too!
Save Crystal Palace Triangle's Christmas Lights!
The Christmas lights of Crystal Palace Triangle could be gone for good unless we act now! We urgently need your help to fund new festive illuminations for all three sides of the Triangle. Every penny will help, and you can even sponsor a lamppost!
What’s it all about?
Why the urgency?
Who's doing this?
A new 'Light Up Team' has come together, made up of local residents and local community groups and traders, all helping as local volunteers to make this community fundraiser a success!
What are the core costs?
After a lot of supplier negotiations we can get 36 new motifs, with all the right fittings, for a core cost target of £9,600. These are1.5m tall motifs, to cover 36 eligible lampposts on three sides of the Triangle. This includes our direct costs (for flyers, banners, printing and our crowdfunder fees), and our first year's electrical power use fee (est. at £170). All our artwork is by Tim Sharville (from Gunpowder Studios game makers) and the huge effort by our "Light Up Team" has been very kindly provided for free. Lights proposed to be funded are Triple Staking Stars 1.5m (H) x 0.57m (W), rated 12W, for 36 eligible lampposts on Westow St, Westow Hill, Church Road in the Triangle.
Is there a stretch target?
YES! With additional funding (in a stretch target) we could get a community Christmas Tree this year (at a safe location), power for lighting the tree, help contribute to a "Switch-On" event, and (roll of drums) potential for new wall fixings installed to allow "Cross Street" lights or a banner over the road to be used in future years. The stretch target also helps build a small contingency fund for motif breakages / repairs and cover the annual power bill for the lights. As we'll own the new motifs, and we can enhance them in future years too!
Help make Crystal Palace Triangle twinkle and shine this and every Christmas!
