Cor Lumen – The Heart of Light

Across the UK, thousands of children with disabilities are falling through the cracks  not because they lack potential, but because they lack the right support.

Cor Lumen is a groundbreaking, 24-hour alternative provision dedicated to serving children with disabilities and complex needs. Our mission is to be a sanctuary, a school, and a second home  a place where every child is seen, safe, celebrated, and supported to thrive.

What Makes Cor Lumen Unique

24-Hour Support

We’re not just a school  we’re a full wraparound care service. From daytime education to overnight sleepovers, crisis care, and holiday support, Cor Lumen is there when others aren’t.

Inclusive, Therapeutic Education

Specialist staff, trauma-informed teaching, sensory classrooms, and one-on-one learning plans ensure every child receives the education they deserve.

Emotional & Physical Safety

Many of our children are care-experienced or neurodiverse. We provide stability, love, and trained therapeutic carers who understand their world.

Parent Relief & Respite

We offer vital support to exhausted families  whether it’s overnight care, last-minute school closures, or holiday programs that give parents room to breathe.

Faith-Inspired Compassion

While open to all, our foundation is built on love, prayer, and the belief that every child carries light  no matter their diagnosis, background, or ability.

Who We Help

We serve children ages 4–16 with:

• Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
• ADHD and sensory processing needs
• Learning disabilities and Down syndrome
• Epilepsy, speech and communication difficulties
• PTSD and trauma from foster care or neglect
• Medical complexities or physical disabilities
• Children excluded or rejected by mainstream education

Many of our children have already been turned away by multiple schools.

• Safe overnight rooms
• Sensory and creative learning zones
• Crisis care and sleepover support
• Therapeutic teaching and 1:1 interventions
• Outdoor nature healing and calm zones
•  Holiday childcare programs

And above all, a loving team who never give up on any child.

Why We Need Your Help

To open our doors, we must raise £1,000,000 for:

• Property lease and renovation
• Sensory room equipment and beds
• Specialist staffing and training
• Emergency care provisions
• Sponsorships for families in crisis
