🌟 Our Vision

The Jerk Kitchen will be more than just a place to eat  it will be a vibrant community hub. Our venue will bring people of all ages together through:

• Afternoon teas and themed supper clubs
• Children’s parties and community events
• A warm, inclusive space with great internet access for local groups to hire
• Lonely Hearts Supper Club – meals designed to tackle isolation and spark connection
• Work with local organisation like young people,young carers,support the Prince Trust.

We’re turning a restaurant into a welcoming, multi-purpose kitchen hub rooted in love, flavour, and community spirit.

📝 Project Summary

We’re The Jerk Kitchen — a Caribbean food business full of heart, flavour, and purpose. We’re raising £100,000 to secure a permanent restaurant space, launch our digital cookbook, and build a vibrant community hub where food brings people together.

Our vision is to create more than just a takeaway or sit-in spot. This will be a warm, welcoming venue that hosts cookery classes, supper clubs, kids’ parties, and community events — helping reduce social isolation, provide jobs, and celebrate Caribbean culture through food.

💸 What We’re Raising Money For

We’re seeking £100,000 to bring this vision to life. Here’s the breakdown:

🏠 £80,000 – Lease to Buy the Restaurant

• Secure the lease on a long-term home for The Jerk Kitchen
• Create a permanent base for food, culture, and community events

💡 £20,000 – Setup & Launch

• First few months’ rent and bills
• Van for deliveries and events
• Kitchen equipment and stock
• Cookbook launch (digital publishing, marketing)
• Legal fees and signage
• Marketing & branding
• Hiring 2 part-time team members 

We’ll also ensure the venue is:

• Digitally connected with good WiFi
• Fully accessible and welcoming to all
• A hireable space for events, workshops, and community gatherings
