Good afternoon,
My name is Jakub Sokolik, a former football player. My son has been battling leukaemia for over a year and a half. After spending a year in the hospital, we were finally released home, but this week, we were readmitted. Unfortunately, we’ve discovered that some of the cancerous blood cells are growing back, and my son needs another round of treatment. The cost of this treatment is between £4,000 and £6,000.
I wouldn’t ask for help if I could manage on my own, but due to the previous year's hospital bills, I am now in debt of £40,000. We also have an 8-month-old daughter who needs care, and my wife must stay in the hospital with our son. I am working as hard as I can and have tried to return to the UK, but I haven’t received my EU settlement papers yet.
I am reaching out to ask for your support in any way you can. No child, especially a 3-year-old, should have to go through this, and as a desperate father, I am doing everything I can to help him.
