At the start of the Ukraine war I volunteered to host a Ukrainian family in my home. After a year they felt safe to return to the home they fled in Kyiv. I now help those who were too old or frail, or just couldn't flee the fighting. I've driven to Kherson a couple of times and also Pokrovsk, with other visits to Odesa, Uman and Mikoliev. I try to take what's needed at the time, my last trip was warm clothing, building materials to repair damaged houses, toiletries, adult Nappies, Female Hygiene Products and Laptops and Tablets which allow children to continue their education remotely.
I drive from Scotland, across Holland, Germany and Poland before entering Ukraine. We drop our aid directly with the people requiring it, usually right on the front lines.
If you can miss your morning coffee from the shop and instead donate the cost here we'd be greatly appreciated! Any donation will help the people of Ukraine, especially the elderly, infirm and the children who don't deserve to be growing up in conditions like this.
