Aim: Provide resources which deprived children need to gain an education. Stationary and food will be donated and process captured on instagram.

What’s 5p to us? Well, to these children - it’s their only chance to have a future.

After visiting a volunteer-run school for deprived children in Gurugram, India…my heart dropped. One day, the school asked children to bring their own pen, as they had run out of funds. Multiple students stopped coming in - not because they didn’t want to, but because they couldn’t afford that pen. A pen here costs 5p. Without resources like stationary, they can’t study. Without an education, they can’t afford food and are left on the streets to starve, be abused, trafficked, or recruited into gangs. I realised it’s my responsibility, our responsibility, to stop that from happening. I am currently buying stationary in bulk, out of my pocket and collecting donated items from shops to make packs of resources for these children. I am also buying non-perishable ingredients so l the schools can prepare at least 2 meals a day for every child. My mum’s charity is re-locating the school into a proper building where they can have classrooms and  properly qualified teachers, so they can get into college, so I decided to work alongside her. Anything that you can donate genuinely has the potential to change a whole life and I would be grateful for every penny. I am in India until the 19th, until which I will hand make and deliver these resources whilst keeping you updated so that you can see the process and the contributions you are making on my instagram stories.

A lot of these children never had a family, but together we can build one. Thank you.
