East Kilbride United is a Community Football Club which was formed in 2013 when the two oldest football clubs (East Kilbride YM -1921 & East Kilbride YC - 1969) in the town came together to form a player pathway for children from 4 years of age to over 80 years of age in their Walking Football.
We took possession of Kirktonholme's two grass parks and Pavilion in 2019 and have made significant improvements costing over £400,000 through grants and our own money. It was clear that we could not cope with the demand of our ever increasing number of teams and players as grass parks cannot be played on as often as 4g pitches.
In addition we have in place agreements to provide free use of the new 4g facility and Pavilion to local schools, Disability Inclusive Football Club and other local community groups.
The number of children and adults playing football at Kirktonholme will rise from 150 a week to over 2500 per week which is great to see.
We were successful in securing £800,000 of grants from the SFA, SLC and SFP and require to raise £50,000 to complete the project. During May 2024 the players, coaches and committee of EKYC and EKYM will be walking, running, cycling etc 50k to raise funds towards our £50k target.
We would be delighted if you would donate towards our goal and thank you for your support.
