#SaveOurVenues - 2Funky Music Cafe

2Funky Music Café is part of a national initiative launched by Music Venue Trust to prevent the closure of hundreds of independent music venues. 

2Funky’s passion for urban arts has helped put Leicester on the map and created great memories for music fans along the way.  Our venue is home to community projects by not-for-profit group 2Funky Arts and helps keep the local creative economy going through supporting freelance artists.

Closure due to the Covid-19 lockdown has put our entire spring programme on hold. As an independent venue, this has meant that income we depend on for staffing and running costs has largely evaporated. In addition to cancelled events, we also anticipate disruption to much of our summer programme, even if we are able to reopen in a few months. We hope to reschedule some events for later in the year, but this is a very uncertain time for us. 

Your donations will be used to fund staffing and running costs not covered by short-term government support, as we still have monthly outgoings that need to be met in order for us to plan our future programme.

If we hit our target, and we can prevent the closure of our venue, everything above the amount we need will be donated to the Music Venue Trust GMV Crisis Fund to protect other venues just like ours, right across the country.
