We're still collecting donations
On the 20th July 2024 we'd raised £185 with 8 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
The aim is to keep heritage alive in Kelty. The village is built on Coal and the races personify the mining traditions.

The Coal Race was held for 21 consecutive years from 1995 onwards. Sadly, the event had not been able to go ahead for 3 years due to lack of funding & COVID.
But it came back with a bang in 2021 , 2022 and 2023 and we want to keep the momentum going as it was much missed by the Kelty & ex Mining community. So in 2024 , we dearly hope to raise enough funds to keep the event running. A date has been set (Saturday 31st August 2024), and sources of key funding have been approached. But this year is Year 25 so we will have 3 days of events for a great Weekender
This is a formidable feat, however, we will still need to raise funds to carry us over the finishing line and ensure we can put on a successful event. Which is where your help comes in.........
