20,000 steps a day for 2 weeks

Hi everyone,

My name is Thea and I am 9 years old. I live in London which is a safe place, I have lots of fun with my friends and family who help keep me safe and healthy and I always have access to food ( well, whenever my parents say so!)

I saw photos of some children in Yemen and it made me feel really sad that they are living in a country where there is a war. It is not fair that I get to live in a safe place and they don't, so I want to try and help if I can. Even if I am able to help one child, it will make a difference and I need your help to do this.

Here is some information about the crisis in Yemen:

Over 12 million children in Yemen were already in danger. Now, coronavirus threatens their lives too.

Yemen is facing a major humanitarian crisis. A devastating conflict has left children and families in urgent need of food, water and medical supplies. Currently, 1.71 million children are internally displaced. No place in Yemen is safe for children.

Unicef is concerned that the spread of coronavirus in Yemen is likely to be devastating. Only one in three people have access to running water, very few people have soap, and many healthcare facilities are closed or only able to provide a very basic service. Any outbreak will place even greater demands on medical staff and already scarce hospital resources such as gloves, soap and ventilators.

£33 COULD PROVIDE LIFE-SAVING FOOD FOR A CHILD FOR THREE WEEKS!!

My brother Kane and I are going to do 20.000 steps a day for the first 2 weeks of my summer holidays and my little sister is going to do 15,000 steps, it would great if you could sponsor us to do this so I can give this money to Unicef to help the children in Yemen. (I am making my mum and dad do it too!)

It is really important to me to be able to help, so would be great if you could help me do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : )
