I first joined the 15th Tynemouth Scouts as a Cub at 8 years old – and now, 19 years later, I have the absolute privilege of being the group's Scout Leader. This group has shaped so much of who I am today. It’s more than just badges and campfires – it’s a community that teaches resilience, teamwork, and a love for the outdoors.
We pride ourselves on being an adventurous group – from hiking and exploring to camping under the stars – but making those adventures happen takes more than spirit and energy. It takes gear, transport, and support, and unfortunately, that doesn’t come cheap.
This year is especially exciting and meaningful. We're celebrating 65 years of 15th Tynemouth Scouts, and to mark the occasion, we're heading off on an anniversary camp at the end of May. To help fund the camp and give our Scouts an unforgettable experience, I’ll be walking 84 miles across Hadrian’s Wall over 4 days – from May 5th to 8th.
That’s 84 miles of wind, rain (probably), and blisters – all to raise funds for our group and the young people who make it so special.
If you’ve ever been part of Scouts, or just believe in giving kids the chance to explore, grow, and build lifelong memories, please consider donating. Every penny raised goes directly to supporting our group and making this anniversary camp something truly special.
Thank you so much for your support – it means a lot to me, and to our Scouts.
