Housing homeless Ex-Forces Men & Women in 2025.
The Block Armed Forces Foundation is a charity based in the North West of England. It provides emergency accommodation and crisis management support to homeless Ex Forces Men and Women, including those struggling with the transition to civilian life after military service.
Poor mental health including military related complex post traumatic disorder (PTSD) can have an huge impact on the lives of veterans, drug, alcohol addiction and homelessness is common amongst the veteran community, providing access to veteran support relies with charities like The Block Armed Forces Foundation.
In 2024 the charity supported 421 people at its drop in space community hub in Liverpool , with 47 of those people being street homeless all finding suitable accommodation as a result of the charity's intervention. 2025 has seen numbers double in the first quarter and mental health services & housing for heroes are in high demand in the North West of England.
By working with emergency services including hospitals, police and the prison services, The Block armed forces foundation helps Ex Forces men and women to recover from illness, keep safe in the community and prevent any reoffending.
The 10K running event aims to raise funds for the charity aims, get the local veteran community in to sports and running events, live a more healthy and active life.
The charity is hoping to raise funds to continue its crisis management and emergency housing support services that will be delivered through the year 2025 to 2026 onwards.
