10K run at Edinburgh Marathon Festival 28 May 2022

Aim: I am raising money for Edinburgh School Uniform Bank please donate and help me reach my target.

I am very pleased to report that I completed my 10K run this morning, thanks to everyone who sponsored me in advance it really spurred me on and helped me to keep going! I am raising money for a charitable cause that is very important to me so please donate and help me reach my target in aid of Edinburgh School Uniform Bank (ESUB).

When a child goes to school in the”wrong” clothes they are vulnerable to social exclusion, bullying and poor mental health.  Edinburgh School Uniform Bank tackles these issues at an early stage by providing school uniforms to families who are experiencing hardship.  Many of the children who benefit from the service face multiple challenges in their families including domestic abuse, housing problems, mental health difficulties and low income.  The confidence, dignity and social inclusion that is facilitated by new school uniform can make an immediate difference to children’s attendance at school, their engagement at school, their participation in sports, and their attitude.  In the longer term they are more likely to grow into confident, socially engaged individuals with much improved life chances.
