REFUGYM
Charity No. 1181499

REFUGYM is an incredible charity set up by my sister Britts to provide exercise classes and activities to refugees living in a camp in Greece. These classes provide people with community, a safe place to connect with each other, and escapism from everyday difficulties.
My sister’s idea is that REFUGYM is run by refugees, for refugees. She empowers and encourages Afghan camp residents to use their own knowledge and passion for sports as a means to support the physical and mental well-being of their own community.
Britts also founded the first and only watersports school for refugees in Greece.
To raise money and support for REFUGYM, I am walking 100km in 24 hours!
This is 1/10th of the 1000km distance from Turkey to Lesbos. Lesbos is often the first place in Greece where many refugees land, having walked from as far afield as Afghanistan.
This is going to be hard for me but it is nothing in terms of the sacrifice that the 100,000 Afghan people make each year in search of a life free from persecution and fear.
If you can, please donate. Times are incredibly difficult for everyone so any support for this crazy idea is so appreciated ????
