Who are we?
We are Churchmead School a local VA Church of England school in Datchet. We cater for ages 11-18 and the gym is a popular space at lunchtime and afterschool. We have local links with a football club and cricket club who have expressed an interest in using the refurbed gym going forward.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are crowdfunding to match donations we have applied for from Sport England. If we can match the target of £15000 then we will have the same amount donated to us. This will then allow us to fill the new space with lots of new and up to date equipment, allowing students, staff, and the local sporting community a chance to get fit with modernised equipment. We want to turn the facility into a functional fitness suite with areas for strength, cardio and flexibility. This will provide us with 16 pieces of equipment - enough for a class to pair up and work on a rotation. Plus for clubs and external hires to have equipment that will improve all of the above.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Community impact
So in terms of the wider community we have two clubs that would like to use the facility after school when they are on site this will further foster stronger link between the school and the community.
How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
