Not quite
Unfortunately this project was not successful.

I want to expand this art collective, taking our work to communities across the country, turning vacant spaces into hives of activity.

Hello, I'm an independent artist with a mission to change the world.

I'm looking to expand the art collective I've been building whilst studying experimental film. We take on projects looking into the social and political environment, to create immersive, emotional and energetic music that we wish to take into spaces across the country. We hope our audiences will get a sense of empowerment and walk away leaving their fears and troubles behind. Everything we create comes through personal experience research and community discussions of various social, scientific and political issues our society faces.

Originally I started out making work targeting the cinema only however in my final year at Staffordshire University I gained new perspective into sound design and music, and its meditative uses. This led me too wonder how I could connect my personal life as an activist, and capture that universal feeling of the scary world we live in, and create music and visuals that counter those worries and fears, and seek too connect & empower audiences.

ARTIST STATEMENT

As an artist, I must take into consideration a certain moral and ethical
code, and abide to certain values that I hold personally, my work will
abide to the following statements:
• I will represent ideas, concepts and questions that I feel are
important to society, particularly the questions and subjects that
are not given platform by mainstream art.
• I will use relevant social research to be able to socially comment
subjects from a well-informed point of view. Looking into
sciences, history, social issues and political.
• My work will push the boundaries of art. Challenging my
audiences, whilst retaining a vulnerability and emotional side that
will build connection with people and communities.
• I will embrace successes of both underground and mainstream
artists and allow their influence to progress my work, whilst
seeking to pioneer new elements in my own.
• I will always work as part of a collective rather than too the
traditional hierarchical standard.
• My work will be music session based, well researched concepts
will be translated into emotive and textured soundscapes using
traditional and more modern instruments and sound creation
techniques.
• Experimentation is everything, I will avoid falling into the trap of
letting myself be dictated by common practice to ensure I can
bring something new to my work and audience.
• I will not be dictated by genres or any other boundaries put on
the modern artists, I intend to be versatile and universal to all.

Projects

Metamorphosis - https://vimeo.com/manage/311524497/

"This project was looking into the overwhelming world of the media and advertisement that bombards us in our daily lives, and show how it is completely dissociated from the natural world around us, as the music progresses the conscious rediscovers its connection to the natural world and departs into blissful ambience. This was created uses analog dirty mixer, using two separate timelines, creating the strange effects you can see."

The Departure visual EP  - https://vimeo.com/manage/336062025/

"On the back of metamorphosis, a new angle of working was found and we moved into even more abstract visuals, created through video feedback loops. This technique is a mirror effect where you plug record the output source of the camera you are recording it from. Essentially you are staring into the infinite. This allowed for the sound design too really shine through, after many hours of music sessions and refining we created a mix of our favorite results

The Short term vision

I want to further expand this work, improve our the studio space (currently in my mums dining room). Too be able to pay my collaborating artists & session musicians, acquire the tools and equipment needed to take this further. Eventually the goal is too set up the art collective up as a social enterprise, becoming fully self sustaining. So we can dedicate time without full reliance on other jobs that prevent us fully committing too projects, this will allow time for us to refine our studio projects, and preparation time for live work. Live work will involve projections of visuals onto walls,  string, air, and percussion instruments, Vocalists and spoken word poets and crowd interaction.
