We've been hit badly by outbreak of the Covid-19 coronavirus, with arts venues, cafes, cinemas and clubs closing down. This is a significant financial hit at the worst time. Many of the artists we work with are freelancers in the arts and this effective shutdown has created a precarious financial balancing act.
We urgently need your help to by way of emergency hardship funds to keep our arts workers in jobs. These are not highly paid people, but young artists who will genuinely struggle to make ends meet over the next few weeks due to the cancellation or postponement of projects brought about by Covid-19.
Like many artists and arts workers in the creative industry we will be unable to collect an income as live events, workshops, and productions are cancelled or postponed indefinitely. That means struggling to pay rent or put food on the table.
We believe it is the responsibility of government, and arts funding bodies, to take a lead on these issues, and while we wait for that, we need you to help us alleviate some of the anxiety and hardship that is becoming widespread at the moment.
Your donation today will help us be more resilient.
All funds raised will go to our Charity which has a long track record and excellent governance. Outspoken Arts Scotland will offer full transparency on how the crowdfunder operates.
Scotland is a country with a strong tradition of unique communities dedicated to free education, freedom of expression and creativity, and, we believe, it is our mission to help the most vulnerable in our society. At Outspoken Arts we are dedicated to the exploration of ideas, and expanding minds.
Now, in these difficult times, it would make for a powerful gesture to just alleviate some of the pressures many now face paying bills and putting food on the table.
So, donate if you can, no matter how small the amount, and spread the word of this crowdfunder via social media, email, and any other way you can think of.
Thank you so much for your support.
