Basically I've just lost my job as a civil servant for helping a homeless person on Twitter&I'm really struggling for my sons birthday.

As it says above I have recently lost my job/career in the civil service for trying to do a good deed. I helped a homeless man who has a blog by giving him benefit advice&it sort of went viral. I didnt realise I was doing anything wrong, just thought I was helping those that really needed it. Im struggling to live off £400 they are giving me for universal credit whilst i look to get back into work&my sons birthday is 31st august. Yet I cant even afford the 4 things that he wants so badly Which are...a new xbox game, a slush machine and the new liverpool kit with football boots. I feel like I've failed as a parent on every level, even just writing this I've got tears in my eyes. His dad is an alcoholic&has put us through hell, literally my house is falling apart, the fridge freezer is on it's way out, so is the cooker. But I dont even care about those things right now as a mother I just wanna try&make my son happy, I cant bare the thought of a sad face on his birthday. I'm always the one offering help/advice and I suppose I'm looking for anyone who will help me just this once. I know it may seem cheeky asking for help for my sons presents but you really would be making a birthday boy so happy with just the few little things Ive mentioned. I never expected to lose my job for trying to help our public. Guess no good deed goes unpunished. If you do decide to donate. Thankyou thankyou thankyou from the bottom of my heart <3
