Opera'r Ddraig

Opera'r Ddraig is a unique and exciting social enterprise, committed to providing a professional platform for young people who are preparing for, or in the early stages of, a career in opera performance, production administration or education. Founded, and based, in the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Opera'r Ddraig were the winners of the 2010 Wales Future Entrepreneur Award and have gone from strength to strength.

Previous performances have included Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte, The Magic Flute, The Marriage of Figaro, Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld, Handel's Acis and Galatea and Purcell's Dido and Aeneas. The company last year toured to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with great success. This year we will be performing Bizet's Carmen in The Gate Arts Centre, Cardiff, February 19th-22nd.

Why we need your help

Opera'r Ddraig do not charge our performers to take part in our performances or to be a member and, as such, are reliant on donations and other privately sourced funding to make our dreams a reality. We need to raise critical funds to cover everything from costumes to programmes to score purchases. Your money will support the cast and production team through what promises to be an exciting and vibrant production. Even the smallest amount will go a long a way so please support us in any way you can.

Please note that complimentary tickets for qualifying backers will be supplied by us, not the venue box office. We will be in touch to arrange these.
