For the past 6 months I have been playing with the idea of opening my own cafe/bistro and possibly a tapas bar in the evenings. I live in a village in between Todmorden and Burnley called Worsthorne with one pub and one social men’s club the village is crying out for a nice small place serving good quality food also abit of night life nothing too flash as it is a village I was thinking of 7am-3pm I would open as a bistro/cafe with a slight upper market twist I’d serve homemade pies all the favourites e.g cheese and onion, pork, meat and potato and steak and kidney also I’d have a few out of the ordinary creations such as steak ale and peppercorn sauce, gammon and black pudding, butternut squash and chicken and pomegranate. I would also serve a range of sandwiches on bloomer loafs aswell as a soup of the day and English breakfasts. At night time I would like to have it as a tapas/wine bar with an array of the finest wines accompanied with cheese boards and a tapas menu with things such as tomato and feta bruschetta, garlic and cheese on artisan bread, king prawns marinated in chilli, ginger and garlic, mixed olives, clams with sherry and Serrano ham and a few other selected dishes depending on the time of year. The tea rooms has just gone on the market for sale and I have had a meeting with the owners and had a look around it’s an amazing place with so much scope! I have managed to save up £7000 but it isn’t quite enough to put a deposit down for the bank to grant me a mortgage I heard of a young man who raised money to go on holiday by crowdfunding so I thought I’d give it a go I hope somebody can help me with my dream.
