Oliver's Plagiocephaly Helmet

Oliver's Plagiocephaly Helmet

My son Oliver has Plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome). We are raising money for a special helmet to help get his head back to a normal shape

Unfortunately, this project was not successful

Our son Oliver has quite bad Plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome) which was caused by a neck condition called Torticollis (tight neck muscle which restricts movement).

At 6 months old we decided to buy a helmet to correct Olivers head as it was classed as severe at 25mm asymmetry. The helmet cost £2000. He has now outgrown the helmet and is down to 12mm asymmetry but as you can see see it is still very noticeable.

We have been advised by the helmet company (technology in motion) that a second helmet should bring him down to around 6mm asymmetry but unfortunately we don't have access to any more funds so are trying to raise money to purchase the helmet.

We fear that if we leave Oliver's head as it is he could be subject to bullying at school which could affect his confidence. He also has misaligned ears due to his misshaped head so would have difficulties wearing glasses etc
