A theatrical double bill hosted by York-based Procter Goblins.
Proctor Goblins is a York based Theatre Company who have been creating theatrical experiences for the past year. Our previous endeavours include pub based interactive 'A Christmas Carol', and 'Scenes From a Teenage Killing', an immersive journey into the mind and Birthday party of a mental health service user.
We are looking to further explore and continue to produce our work, with this new endeavour which shifts the focus onto two emerging York Companies as Proctor Goblins turns its hand to Producing. This exciting double bill of two dark comedies will debut at The Basement at City Screen York this October. In order to promote the work and give it the recognition it deserves, we are fundraising to support this new event.
We are hoping that 'Oh No! Not This...' will continue to grow and become a regular occurance, showcasing new companies and new talent in York. We would thoroughly appreciate any donation, no matter what size, which will go towards making this new opportunity a reality.
For further information about the two breakthrough shows, please read on.
THIS TIME IT LIVES
Join Harold and Arthur for an unusually live edition of their morbid, monthly podcast. This time, they are discussing mysterious river deaths, with special guest David Paulides. Who will turn up. He'll definitely turn up. There's no way he won't, otherwise there'd be no event.
Their uncanny ability for incompetence is only rivalled by their egocentric behaviour (mainly Arthur, but don't tell him I said that - H). So come along if you like conspiracy theory, the horror genre, terrible poetry about birds or just want to know more about the actual podcast. Also, there's beer. But you have to pay for it. No freebies. First two rows might get wet and... damn those advert breaks.
KATH, ALICE ‘AND?’ STIBS by Mark Watson
Photocopy Theatre bring us a darkly comic look at what can happen when a narcissists self-confidence is all that is required to wrest control of others destinies from their fumbling grasp.
Why would anyone obey an idiot?
When the idiot's in charge of course!
One night at an adult education class teaches our intrepid pupils more than they ever dreamed of.
Tutor Justin will bring new meaning to their lives as he reveals amazing techniques and unconventional skills.
But is the reward of self-discovery enough to justify the method?
It is not.
