OASIS CHILDCARE CENTRES - Children's Charity No 1057410
The show must go on!!
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, we are unable to host our annual Christmas Nativity and Fayre. This event is a fundamental part of our fundraising efforts. Therefore, this year to help us still raise these vital funds the staff are coming together on Saturday 5th December 2020 to take part in a Christmas fancy dress sponsored walk from our Ludgvan Oasis Centre to Mousehole Rockpool. Watch this space!!
Following Covid-19 safety measures, to minimise risk and support all those involved, staff will be set off from Oasis at 9am with staggered start times, walking in pairs from their class/group. Each staff pair will be required to take selfie's at 6 specific areas/locations along the walk. These areas/locations will be shared with the children beforehand and the staff's photo's on the day will be uploaded to our fundraising page/website spontaneously during the walk. This will support the children and their families to follow the fundraising event on the day. The children will be encouraged to get involved by following the staff's progress online and recording each of the specific areas/locations. Our 6 specific areas/locations are: St Michaels Mount with sea view, Penzance Train Station, Fountain at St Anthony's garden on the promenade, Newlyn Green Fisherman Statue, a fishing boat in Newlyn Harbour and the Rockpool at Mousehole.
The staff would greatly appreciate your support and welcome a drive past wave or beep along the way. However, your safety is important to us so please do not gather at any of our locations. We look forward to seeing you along the way.
To ensure the children are fully involved in this process, they have been asked to create a resource and equipment wish list. Please let us assure you that every penny raised will go towards the children's wishes!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Barclay's Bank for supporting us through their Community Aid Package. Especially Karen Whiting (Olivia's mum), a Branch Manager, for taking the time to support us with arranging and organising this event. Barclay's Bank and their staff team have supported our children's charity for many years, and we cannot thank them enough for the joy and new experiences that they have brought to our children. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic we remained open to support many critical key worker children and their families, vulnerable children and their families, and vulnerable people within our local and wider community. We really need you to get behind us and support us!! This is a one-off fundraising opportunity which will have a fundamental impact upon the children, families, and vulnerable people that we continue to support in our local and wider community.
Once again, thank you for your ongoing support, especially at these unprecedented times that we are all experiencing. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and a healthy New Year!
Lorna Trudgeon (Senior Centre Manager of Oasis Childcare Centre's)
