As of January we will be registered for charity status and are wanting to be bringing the following to the community.
We will continue our soup kitchen but will be instead be re naming it community cafe and everyone is more than welcome in it.
We also had council premises lined up but unfortunately the prices the council are wanting are far with outreach of our budgets so have instead looked into private commercial premises which would mean we would have them 7 days a week for what the council would want for just 2 nights ????
With us becoming a charity we will have to start doing fundraising to pay for the premises so we can secure them on a 7 day basis and we will be relying on volunteers and grants to help us see this through. When we succeed in securing the funding this is all we will have on offer to our community.
Mother & toddler clubs
Community soup kitchen
Packed lunches for any vulnerable children in our areas
The toy appeal will continue throughout the year and not just at Xmas.
Training for 15-18 year olds looking for jobs in industrys such as car mechanics, chef, hospitality, IT, hairdressing & beauty list goes on.
Summer clubs for teenagers and kids from dance classes, to boxing, karate, keep fit.
The list is endless on the amount of things we can give back to our community if we secure these premises on a 7 day a week basis and we already have enough professionals in place to take on all the above classes and courses.
I’ve had folk mail me saying this should never be needed and the council should be stepping up and offering these sort of things in our local community centres that lie derelict for most of the year unless hired out but the sad reality is they are never going to do anything about it and I agree it shouldn’t be needed but it is and we intend to make it happen one way or another as some many people could benefit from it.
Lets show everyone their can be hope in their communities they just need our community spirit ❤️ xx
