We took over The Oak Room Restaurant after 4 months of waiting due to delays with negotiations, having just been kicked out of our previous business due to the Landlord wanting the building back we was excited to finally take over the keys here on the 14th of March, The plan was to spend a week refitting and getting everything ready then open the doors to all the local passing trade that have been crying out for a good restaurant for years.
Within the week of fitting COVID- 19 hit the UK, and the government took the decision to close all restaurants and pubs. This has hit us hard. We have just used our savings to pay for the staff to make sure they still have a job at the end of this but we are low on funding to pay bills finish work as well as support our family at home. My wife works hard in the NHS so she is stressing about everything that is going on.
We would love the opportunity to pay a few bills and get back onto ready for opening once this virus has gone and we can got back to normal.
