Hope cafe has previously housed 11 families . Present conditions in Greece with housing families seeming impossible has caused us to believe we should take part in this huge responsibility as The Greek ministry has a huge waiting list that is stagnant. We’ve witnessed massive evictions from hotel programs and community housing and families are living on the streets again in alarming numbers . One particular family sought assistance from one of our volunteers Anna and we have secured an apartment temporarily for now. We need to raise 6 months rent and utilities for a larger flat as it’s more effective to house 3 families under 1 roof with three bedrooms sharing a kitchen salon and bathroom .It’s catastrophic the situation here and from 1/7/21 because of another government system change it’s going to get worse. Families will mot only be homeless they will be without cash support too .
They need us to support basic rights of humanity . Babies need security let’s help them have the best start in life possible .
