NOTHING COMES OF NOTHING or Dramatis Personae is a comedy short about a small touring theatre company. We follow their journey to the premiere of their new version of King Lear, as they try to evade their nemesis; TV hospital drama reject & ersatz game show host Miles Montalban. The film will premiere as part of Scalarama film festival and is paired with a showing of Waiting for Godot at Liverpool's Central Library on Friday 14th September. The project is the second film for many of us, having collaborated to produce a science fiction short - Uncanny Valerie - with no budget (and even less time) last year. It was a huge learning experience and has inspired us to work together on this piece, which is part self-parody and part experiment of combining scripted dialogue with improvisation. Our goal is to make something that is funny, fresh and strong enough to be submitted to film festivals and other screening events. We're also driven to produce a piece of work that showcases the range and versatility of our small team, as well as learning a few new things along the way and have a great time in the process!
