We got the Lottery funding!

Hello again everybody

We got the Lottery funding!!

Fantastic news – we’ve been awarded Lottery funding for our project. The National Lottery Heritage Fund has awarded £68,100 for Pledge for Nature! That’s just about £6 for every £1 you wonderful people and organisations and the Devon Community Chest donated through the Crowdfunder. Together with the additional funds provided by Marsdens Devon Cottages, DCC Environment Group and the North Devon Biosphere Foundation, that means we have secured around £91,000 - the full budget for the project.

The positive decision from the Lottery was hugely helped by your demonstration that our community cares about the loss of nature across the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere – and want to do something about it. We passed on all your amazing comments, and having so many supporters clearly clinched the decision!

The next step is to recruit our Pledge Coordinator. If you know anyone who might be interested in this exciting opportunity please ask them to visit https://www.northdevonbiosphere.org.uk/ where they will shortly find details of the job and how to apply. We hope to have the Coordinator in place by mid-October, and to launch the project by the end of the year as planned.

We’ll send another update ahead of the launch and will then transfer our communications with you to the project’s own systems.

Thanks again for all your help.

Mike Moser

Chair of the Biosphere Nature Improvement Group
