The Coronavirus Appeal launched a year ago today, just days before the first national lockdown.
We could never have imagined then how broadly or deeply the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic would be felt. Or for how long.
But we could also never have imagined the speed and scale of the nation's generosity when it mattered most. The public, businesses, trusts and foundations have stepped forward for communities in an incredible way.
Nearly £100 million has been raised in this last year and already supported more than 13,000 projects across the UK.
It has delivered food to the doorsteps of those shielding, helped charities and groups transfer vital mental health support online, ensured that people feel connected - and cared for - in such difficult times - and much more besides.
I am sure the pandemic has created difficulties for you and those around you. So I want to thank you personally today for supporting the Coronavirus Appeal. You have helped to make a difference to so many people's lives.
CEO, National Emergencies Trust
This month we've been taking a moment on social media to acknowledge the incredible efforts of #NETCharityChamps across the UK.
With a little help from some famous faces and well-known names we've been raising awareness of all the ways that charities and groups - big and small - have been transforming Coronavirus Appeal donations into difference.
This launch video tells you all about their brilliant work. You can explore Champs stories from your neighbourhood on our website. And you can get involved on social media using #NETCharityChamps.

The pandemic has taught us many lessons. Not least what we can achieve when we all come together.
Since we launched the Coronavirus Appeal in March last year, I've continued to be amazed by how our patrons, donors, fundraisers and funding partners have come together to help others in great need.
It's been a privilege to see how charitable champs across the UK have transformed all that support into difference. From food and essentials to those isolating at home, to safe spaces for those with no homes to go to.
Inspiring individuals of all ages have walked mountains on their stairs, cycled marathons and donned fancy-dress for their food shops. While organisations have helped raise vital awareness and funds.
So I am really proud to share with you our final Coronavirus Appeal report, which is co-authored by the many, many voices who helped make things happen: from funders to fundraisers. I hope you find it an inspiring read.
My huge personal thanks to you for the part you have played in making it all possible.
Mhairi Sharp, CEO
