A group of brave Engineers are attempting the treacherous National Three Peaks Challenge in a bid to raise money for Bristol Mind

New stretch target

The Challenge:

The National Three Peaks Challenge is a pursuit to climb the highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours. 

The three peaks are: 

-Ben Nevis / Beinn Nibheis (1,345 m), the highest mountain in Scotland 

-Scafell Pike (978 m), the highest mountain in England 

-Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa (1,085 m), the highest mountain in Wales 

With an approximate 10 hours of driving and 13 hours of climbing the total distance walked is estimated at 42 kilometres with a total ascent of 3,000 m.

The Plan:

Saturday 20th July

  • 6am arrive at Ben Nevis and begin challenge.
  • 11am finish Ben Nevis, drive to Scarfell
  • 5pm arrive at Scarfell
  • 9pm finish Scarfell and drive to Snowdon

Sunday 21st July

  • 2am arrive at Snowdon
  • 6am finish Snowdon and complete challenge

The Charity:

Bristol Mind is a mental health resource for people in Bristol and surrounding areas which;

-Promotes well-being and recovery 

-Provides a wide range of advocacy services, delivers cutting edge training courses 

-Offers a confidential helpline most evenings including the weekend 

-Encourages recovery through volunteering.
