Raising money to redevelop this 1 bedroom house into a 3 bedroom student-let property.

by Sam Pillow in Stoke On Trent, England, United Kingdom

Hi! I'm Sam, i'm 22 and I just bought a house in Stoke-on-Trent.

This is my first venture on the property ladder and I'm hoping it will be the first of many.

I graduated from university last summer, and got a job at the Students' Union immediately after. Although I no longer study, I have a huge passion for architecture and actually focussed my final year dissertation on the traditionalist and modernistic styles of Birmingham's architecture. Some day, I dream of designing and building my own home, and while that seems impossible now, I hope that this project will get me in the right direction.

I bought this house with one bedroom, one bathroom, and several reception rooms, which I feel waste a lot of space. My vision is to fully renovate and modernise them and turn this into a three bedroom house, so I may rent it out to students in the local area.

The main areas of work that I need to carry out are: New walls, doors, locks, corridor lights, bathroom refit (shower, toilet, sink, general repairs), gas certificate, electricity certificate, kitchen refit, painting.

My budget is about £6,000 to complete all the works necessary for a tenant to live in.

You will be able to follow the journey through my Crowdfunding page with pictures and stories. It will be a rollercoaster i'm sure.

Many thanks for taking the time to read, and if you can, please help me fund this project.
