We want to install outdoor musical play equipment in the play area we are creating for children with disabilities or additional needs

New stretch target

If we get to £2910 we can buy a Babel drum as well as the musical pipes. If we get to £3,200 we can add permanent music song sheets and £4,500 would mean we can also buy musical bat pipes which sounds brilliant. Children use table tennis style paddles to tap the end of the giant tubes to produce different notes. All of this equipment uses different movements to produce the musical notes and is a great sensory experience for all abilities.

Martins Croft Play Area Project is a volunteer run community project in Colerne to improve our village play area making it suitable for children with disabilities or additional needs. We have seen how music can have a positive and calming effect on children of all abilities .

We would like to install some outdoor musical pipes. To create music children pull the top of the pipe up and then let it go, as the tube slowly lowers it produces the musical notes. It will be a great addition to our play area and children of all abilities will benefit from it.

We welcome families from any area to come any try out the equipment so it won’t just be people from Colerne that will benefit.

If we raise enough money we will also buy a babel drum. Having the reflective metal will add to the sensory experience, it makes a beautiful sound!

We have been making song sheets using laminated paper but they don’t last in the bad weather so we could also get the song sheets printed professionally on hardwearing signs so they are permanent
