I am raising money to fund my Masters degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance which will start in September 2018.

My name is Scarlett and I am a flautist from North Norfolk.

I am currently in my 3rd year studying music at the University of Nottingham and have been offered a place on the 2-year Masters programme at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London for September 2018.

The tuition fees in total will be £20,000 and I have estimated that my maintenance costs will be over £20,000 for two years living in London. To fund this I will take the maximum student loan of £10,000 over the 2 years. I shall match this with my own savings and I will continue to earn more money throughout my degree at Nottingham and during the summer holiday before starting the course.  I also plan to apply for various scholarships and donations from Trust funds however, any further donations will be greatly appreciated. I hope that during my masters course I will also be able to earn some money through professional music work.

The money will go towards paying for my tuition which will allow me to have weekly one-to-one lessons with highly acclaimed flute teachers as well as masterclasses, repertoire classes and modules on working within the music industry. This masters degree will be essential for my musical development and help me to become a professional musician in the future.

While at the University of Nottingham, I have studied with Dana Morgan. In August 2017, I attended a Flute Summer School at Benslow Music Trust which was run by Philippa Davies (Guildhall School of Music and Drama), and I have had lessons with Sarah Newbold (GSMD) and Gitte Marcusson (Royal College of Music).

I have been principal flute of the University of Nottingham Philharmonia, the university's auditioned orchestra, for the last 2 years, which is conducted by Jonathan Tilbrook (Head of Orchestral Studies at Trinity Laban).

In February 2017, I auditioned to perform a concerto with one of the university's ensembles. I was successful in this and in March 2018 I will be performing Mike Mower's concerto for flute and wind orchestra with the university's auditioned Wind Orchestra, of which I am currently principal flute.

If you choose to support me, I can offer you a free 1 hour recital (UK only), acknowledgement of your sponsorship on my CV, biography and social media sites and updates on my progress.
