We're busy creating materials and organizing lots of events for a festival to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death in Portsmouth this year (18th-23rd April).

For example, we're creating a Shakespearean Market for 22nd and 23rd April, to help local traders and businesses raise awareness of their brands.

We're also running competitions for local kids, including an fashion design competition and the Sonnet Oscars, for which we've also recently brought out a free sonnet-writing guide. We're not charging children to enter or for the guide, because we want these things to be available to all. However, if you think we've done a good job, we'd love it if you would register your approval by making a small donation.

You can see more of the things we're up to here: http://maap.port.ac.uk/

Please donate if you like what we're doing and want to help us to do it.

Much Ado About Portsmouth is a community-focused initiative brought to you by staff and students at the University of Portsmouth. All monies for the project have been achieved by fundraisers and sponsorship.

Any profits will be given to charities (including local and literacy focused charities).
