Oliver Regan. Although Oliver himself battles with his illness on a daily basis he tiresly and unselfishly campaigns to stop the stigma, and encourages others to talk about the topic of mental health.
More recently he has become a mental health facilitor to allow him to further help and support others. In 2015 he was awarded the
Jane Antoniou award, and even more recently he wrote and directed a short film entitled 'Hidden Sadness' to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week and is in regular communication with sufferers who make contact through his Open up UK social media page.
The reason for the email is that Oliver has been selected to represent Bromley in the Mr British Isles modelling competition, with the final being held in the prestigious Hilton Hotel in Liverpool at the end of June. This would do so much for his self esteem, and inspire those who look up to him to also achieve their dreams and not to let mental health hinder them from reaching their goals. Although Oliver is a handsome young man, his illness at times leads him to believe he's 'ugly', and I feel this would be a tremendous boost for him. (Please see attached image).
The fee for sponsorship is £150, 150- travel etc-not a great amount in order to make a difference to not just Oliver, but the many followers who he inspires and encourages every day.
I would be grateful if you could take Olivers hard work into consideration and allow him, if just for one day, to feel special and allow him to represent your area as Mr Bromley. Oliver also suffers with travel anxiety and this would be a fantastic opportunity for him to address his fear.
