Mount Pleasant's All-Weather Path

We are Mount Pleasant Primary School in Thurso, Caithness and we are aiming to raise funds to help finish our path.

We did it!

On 15th May 2017 we successfully raised £400 with 19 supporters in 56 days

Help us raise £15,000 to finish off our path!

Here at Mount Pleasant Primary School, we have great grounds and space for children to run, play and exercise. However, for the majority of the year our large field is 'out-of-action' due to either rain or being waterlogged. This can affect P.E. sessions, but worst of all means the children don't get to take advantage of the great space we do have on a daily basis.

Having read research into effective ways to promote health and wellbeing and positive learning environments, we have started our 'Early Energiser' to help engage children in promoting an active, healthy lifestyle. However, through using a path, it gives more breadth into the activities we can do with the children so that we are able to take into account the interests and abilities of all.

Having the path will mean the field will be available for use all year round, so no more postponed sports days! It will also mean that the field is fully accessible to all, taking great care to ensure it is appropriate for wheelchair users.

Take a look at the video some of our House Captains have created to see more reasons as to how the path will benefit our school.

Thank you for supporting and helping us reach our goal!
